
ProQual Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management
Introduction
The ProQual Level 4 Diploma in Spectator Safety Management is aimed at those working in safety management role at spectator events, e.g. safety officer within a stadium or arena.
This qualification meets the requirements for level 4 training for people working in senior roles such as Chief Security Officer as specified in the The Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (also known as the Green Guide)
The Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) is the single framework for regulated qualifications, the regulatory body for this qualification is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). This qualification is accredited onto the RQ
Cost
Pay in full at the time of booking: £1500.00 per candidate (No VAT to add)
Pay within 30 days (Companies only): £1700.00 per candidate
Pay by instalments: £2000.00. Pay a deposit of £400.00, then pay a minimum of £300.00 per month. NOTE: Certificate will not be issues until the course is paid in full.
Entry Requirements
This qualification is appropriate for candidates aged 18+.
Although there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, it is important to note, you will be required to have an adequate level of competency to enable you to complete the course. This could be through previous training and / or experience within the industry. In addition to this you will be required to conduct your own research to enable to fully understand and meet the requirements outlined in the course specification.
Although the following will not affect you signing up for the course, prior to certification, there is a requirement for candidates to have completed the following:
ACT (Action Counter Terrorism) Awareness e Learning course. You do not have to have this before the course start date, as long as you have it by the end of the course, before certification is issued.
The revised standards for Spectator Safety requires candidates to undergo appropriate counter terrorism training relevant to their job role. It is a prerequisite for Level 4 Diploma certification for candidates to have completed an ACT strategic training course.
Note: It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure they have completed an ACT strategic course prior to certification by the accreditation body, ProQualAB.

Do I need a workplace to complete this qualification?
Yes, you will require access to a suitable workplace either as an employee, consultant or volunteer.
This qualification requires learners to complete a work/industry placement experience throughout the duration of the qualification, before certification.
This qualification is for candidates who are already employed or are looking to progress into a safety management role with spectator safety and are involved in planning of safety at an event, managing resources, and developing and implementing policies.
It is also suitable for those wishing to take the qualification as a platform for progression onto further learning in this area. Candidate may be looking to or currently working as Safety Officers, Security Managers, Event Planners.

Assessment:
- Internally assessed and verified by centre staff
- External quality assurance by ProQual verifiers
- There are no exams
- There are no classroom sessions or tuition provided as this is a competency based course. Candidates are required to research and apply the what they have learned in line with the course specification (see specification below)
- An e-portfolio of Underpinning Knowledge and Evidence of Professional Practice (e.g. Policy Documents, contingency plans etc.)
Assessment of Practice undertaken by one of our Assessors when candidates are acting in a safety management role

Unit 2: Manage the Safety and Security of People at Spectator Events
Unit 3: Develop, Implement & Review policies and procedures at Spectator Events
Unit 4: Manage Information for action and Decision Making for Spectator Events
Unit 5: Manage Resource for Safety and Security at Events
Unit 6: Manage risk in Crowded Places
Unit 7: Manage the Initial Response to Significant or Major Incidents and Plan for Resilience
Unit 8: Work with Others to Improve Customer Service
An additional 3 Optional Units will also be selected with your course assessor to complete the qualification
Unit 9: Monitor and Solve Customer Service Problems
Unit 10: Recruit, Select and Retain People
Unit 11: Support Individuals ‘Learning & Development
Unit 12: Identify & Evaluate Opportunities for Innovation and Improvement
